Old bakery site up for sale

A rare industrial block with massive exposure to the M1 at Carrara is up for sale, via an expressions of interest campaign being marketed by Craig George of Colliers International.

The 2411sq m site was occupied by The Old Village Bakehouse until the building it occupied was affected by fire around 12 months ago. Since then the site has been cleared and the owners now want to sell the property.

Situated at 2 Elysium Road in Carrara, the site sits adjacent to the M1 and comes with a massive signage opportunity on an existing and approved billboard that still bears the name of the old bakery.

“The exposure provided by that billboard is second to none,” Mr George said. “It offers an occupier great exposure to all the traffic passing by on the motorway, which is around 94,000 vehicles daily according to Main Roads.”

Mr George said he was expecting much of the enquiry for the property to come from local owner-occupiers, with the exposure also expected to generate interest from fast food outlets and service stations. Existing businesses in the area include Tip Top, Visy and Stratco.

“This property is ideally located on the M1 and it is in a precinct that works very well for warehousing and distribution, or really any business that needs to transport its product.

“You can be on the M1 within less than a minute and can access areas north to Brisbane, or south to Coolangatta.”
