The Retail Tenant Advisory team at Colliers International are partnering with mobilecentral24/7 for the national roll out of their mobile device accessory vending machine network.
mobilecentral24/7 is Australia’s first accessories vending machine providing access to mobile device accessories on the go and available 24/7 to meet the growing demand for customer convenience.
The business began in 2013 after the Directors identified a gap in the market for 24 hour access to essential mobile device accessories.
“Most people have come across a time where they require an accessory for the mobile phone/device and require it immediately. Mobilecentral24/7 is the solution for this,” said Julian Yates, Director at mobilecentral24/7.
“We provide quality products at competitive prices and have installed Paypass technology within the machines for added convenience.”
mobilecentral24/7 currently have approximately 25 vending machines located throughout Queensland, including Brisbane domestic and international airport, Brisbane CBD and The Methyr Centre at New Farm. Last month mobilecentral24/7 installed two vending machines at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
To ensure we are meeting our customer’s needs, we’re constantly growing our product range and have the ability to change products within our machines depending on the location and the consumer’s preferences,” said Mr Yates.
We recently installed two new vending machines at Suncorp Stadium which is an exciting new location for mobilecentral24/7. We also recently introduced Travel Sim products within our machines to provide customers with quick access to mobile phone sim cards, which is especially convenient for international travellers.”
The group’s strategy is to expand across Australia throughout the next 18-24 months with a key focus on high pedestrian traffic areas and precincts such as airports, train stations, tourist hubs and retail hubs.
Julian Demetrovics, Director of Retail Tenant Advisory nationally will be overseeing mobilecentral24/7’s national expansion.
“Vending machines provide a cost effective platform to service customers in locations that would not normally be accessible 24 hours a day as well as the ability to vary products quickly depending on consumer preference,” said Mr Demetrovics.
Colliers International are proud to be representing mobilecentral24/7 as their Retail Tenant Advisors in their national expansion. We will utilise existing Colliers International national landlord relationships and market knowledge to ensure mobilecentral24/7 has representation in locations throughout Australia, where customers require convenient and round-the-clock access to mobile device accessories.”
Michael Bate, Head of Retail in Australia for Colliers International said kiosk retailing, such as vending machines, are highly beneficial for mall landlords as they occupy minimal space yet generate returns.
“The offerings in these machines is making them consistently more popular for landlords who can sell more items than traditional fast-moving consumer goods” Mr Bate said.
“They can transform an area in a shopping centre that is otherwise empty and making no money”.
“For landlords, vending machines provide the ability to offer additional products and services for retail customers without the requirement for substantial infrastructure to be provided by the landlord” said Mr Bate.
Mobilecentral24/7 manage the machine totally – stock supply and control, maintenance, cleaning, complaints/enquiries. There is a sole supplier arrangement with CMI Accessories for high quality stock and Service Contracts in place for operation, maintenance and filling of the machines.
Vending machine business has grown significantly over the last five years with the rise of products other than food and beverages being offered. Vending machines are common place through Asia and the US, dispensing items such as baby care, make-up, clothes and flowers.
Nowadays, alongside mobile device accessories, vending machines provide customers across Australia with access to DVD hire, footwear and even dry cleaning.
