Centro Milton Village on the market

Colliers International is marketing Centro Milton Village shopping centre,  a popular city-fringe neighbourhood centre on Baroona Road, Milton, on behalf of Centro Properties, one  of Australia’s largest shopping centre owners.       

Stewart Gilchrist, National Director Retail and fellow Director Stephen Kidd, both of Colliers International have been appointed to market Centro Milton Village for sale by Expressions of Interest, closing on Thursday, 11 November, 2010.

The centre, which is located just 2.5 kms from Brisbane’s CBD close to the corner of Milton Road, was constructed by the Thomas Family in 1974.  It has since undergone a number of upgrades, having been purchased by Centro Properties in 2003. 

The land has an area of 5,514 sq m and has a 132 metre frontage to Baroona Road, providingall retail tenancies with excellent exposure to the high level of passing traffic, plus ample car parking at the front of the centre.

The centre is anchored by a strong performing IGA supermarket plus a complimentary mix of food, medical and serviced based retailers over the net lettable area of 2,780 sq m.

Mr Gilchrist said the centre has a strong reputation and appeal as a trendy shopping destination being the only high end offering of its kind in the local area.

The IGA is supported by 18 specialty retailers on the ground floor of the centre, including Togninis – one of Brisbane’s most popular cafes – Baskin Robbins, Bossy Hair, Milton News, Milton Travel and Milton Pharmacy and seven office and medical tenants on the first floor.

“Centro Milton has to my knowledge always enjoyed a very high level of occupancy and caters extremely well for the locals in terms of food medical and service retailing,” Mr Gilchrist said.

“In fact, around 70 per cent of the centre’s $1.3 million annual income is derived from the medical and food related offerings.”
