“Boongargil” offers a significant irrigated and dryland cropping enterprise covering 4,256 hectares with significant water entitlements within the Border Rivers region of Queensland Australia.
“Boongargil” benefits from frontage to the Macintyre River as it flows in a west toward its junction with the Weir River. Approximately 1,593 hectares of the property has been developed for irrigation, the majority of which is leveled grey to black soil types using a flood irrigation system on row crop furrows an additional area is developed with three centre pivots. Approximately 1,740 hectares remains as dry land cultivation. Approximately 100 hectares is uncleared with the balance comprising water storages, support land, creeks and waterways.
This area is a commercial hub of a vast agricultural and pastoral sector which produces cotton, grain, wool, poultry, beef, lamb and pork for domestic and overseas markets.
Crops grown include irrigated Cotton, Wheat, Barley and Chickpeas.
