Having been part of the retail revolution across the Middle East, Ahmad’s experience has allowed him to consult several prominent schemes and developers ranging from community malls to lifestyle centres and regional destinations.
After starting his career in leasing and marketing, Ahmad quickly excelled in his role and is today consulting clients on a wide range of retail services including value addition through good design and development practices, leasing strategy formation, customized tenant mix arrangement, and asset & portfolio management. He has worked with most of the leading retail houses in the region covering vast retail segments including high-street fashion, luxury, F&B, and neighborhood retail. To date, Ahmad has been involved in the development, leasing or operations of over 3 million sq.ft of retail space with an additional 2 million sq.ft on an advisory role.
Ahmad has also consulted several European supermarket chains including Carrefour, Gèant and Spar with their expansion across the UAE. Most recently, Ahmad led Spar’s GLA drive, achieving a 28% growth or 13 new outlets within the year 2017-2018. He has built considerable insights into specific needs of supermarket operators, such as space and MEP allocations, “Shelve-Run” ratios, and investment parameters, utilizing this knowledge to further improve deal negotiations.
