I have been working for Colliers International for 10years now, starting in February 2010 as the receptionist in the Adelaide CBD office. While being on reception, I was able to provide assistance across all business lines where needed. In 2013 I moved back to Canberra where I was able to transfer to the Canberra Colliers office as the receptionist. A short 6months after starting in the Canberra office, I was promoted to Team Assistant for the Real Estate Management Team where I have developed a much greater knowledge and respect for all the work that is entailed in the management of properties, from a Property Management and Facilities Management aspect. In 2018 I was promoted within the team to Senior Property Administrator, working predominantly with the Facility Management Team however still assisting the Property Managers where needed.

I have over 29 years’ experience in the construction and facility management industries specialising in operations & maintenance, project management, building services design, energy management, occupational health and safety, defects and fire safety.
I currently oversee the facilities management team for the Real Estate Management business in Canberra. I lead a team of 11 highly skilled facilities professionals who are committed to maximize the potential of property and to accelerate the success of our clients and assets under management. I work with many high profile government and private clients and currently service all of Colliers International ACT’s largest clients focusing on compliance and operational management.
I commenced an electrical apprenticeship with Kilpatrick Green (Melbourne) in 1991 and completed my A Grade licence at the end of 1994. During this time I worked on major industrial and commercial construction projects and was involved in maintenance programs for city buildings. Joining the Crown Casino in 1996 as a Property Services Officer, I worked on state of the art building systems, and gaming and restaurant equipment. A move to Canberra in 2000 saw me working with a major fire services company where I undertook the servicing and installation of fire and evacuation systems. Over the next five years, my responsibility extended to the delivery of all contracted fire system installations to ACT and surrounds. I joined Brookfield Multiplex in 2005, where I worked on the construction of the new 40,000m2 NLA Centrelink National Support Office. My responsibilities included ensuring the building was fully capable of meeting the complex contractual obligations and environmental targets, particularly Australian Building Greenhouse Rating of 4.5 stars (now known as NABERS Energy). I also managed the integration aspects of transition mid 2007 of the building from construction to operational use at the Centrelink National Support Office. At this time, my role changed to Senior Facilities Manager, with responsibility for the efficient delivery of all contracted facility management services, aspects of lease compliance for the Owner, financial performance, and management of the Facility Services Contract and Facilities Services Agreement.
I joined Colliers International in 2010 working with our major clients concentrating on new building handover, lease & building compliance, and also support the ACT region in building related matters.

I am a leading Senior Facilities Manager of a team that manages 62 properties. I have over 9 years’ experience in the facilities and property industry, specialising in operations, maintenance and working to a budget with clients. I am responsible for the facilities management of buildings tenanted by private companies and Commonwealth Government departments managing over 50,000 sqm of mixed use NLA. I chair fortnightly meetings to co-ordinate operations within the Facilities Management team. I feel I contribute in a major way in maintaining continuity and assisting any of the more junior members of the team to achieve their goals and provide a quality service to all our clients.
I have a strong client focused mindset and take great pride in the work I produce, always aiming to exceed clients expectations. I have excellent communication and high level management and organizational skills maximizing the potential of property and accelerating the success of our clients.
Prior to joining Colliers International I worked for companies such as Schneider Electric and King-Air responsible for 25 years as an air-conditioning Mechanic and BMS Technician.

I have over 30 years’ experience in the electrical maintenance and facility management industries specialising in operations and maintenance, project management, building services design, energy management, occupational health and safety, defects resolution and risk management. I always aim to exceed expectations and maximize the potential of property to accelerate our clients success
I work collaboratively within the Real Estate Management Team actively undertaking tasks assigned to me. I am in regular consultation with the Property Managers to ensure the best outcomes are achieved. I am always available to the members within the Real Estate Management Team and other sections within the Colliers International ACT, to answer questions and help resolve any issues that may need my assistance.
Prior to joining Colliers International, I worked for Cromwell Property Group, as Facilities Manager, managing three buildings within the ACT/NSW portfolio and providing support on the other buildings within the portfolio. The duties included building compliance, contractor and contract management, building energy and water efficiency management, building maintenance management, identifying the best solution for issues, building asset lifecycle management, Capital Works project management, building outgoings financial management and budget input.

I have over 25 years operational background within the Government, Commercial and Industrial building operations market (both here in Australia and the United Kingdom), in managing all facets of building services; having gained the experience as both a building owner’s representative and a contracted technology services provider.
My career progression from trade through contracted service provider, building owner portfolio representative has afforded me a more holistic knowledge to all facets of commercial building management.
My successes are founded on this holistic understanding with all stakeholder’s involvement and therefore managing the expectations and required outcomes for my customers.

- Served with the Australian Defence Force (Army) for 25 years achieving the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1.
- Worked as a consultant to Transfield Services working on Defence tenders prior to joining Colliers International.
Senior Facilities Manager
With over 6 years experience in the Facilities Management field specialising in Commercial management, I have dealt with many issues in the day to day running of major tenants. Some of these include Auspost, IBM, Microsoft, Dept of Human Services and Lockheed Martin. Each has been challenging with differing requirements, but all have been a great experience widening my knowledge of client expectations and requirements.
Prior to working in Real Estate Management, I was a licenced Electrician working in the trade for over 5 years. In this time, I had extensive experience in new commercial buildings, renovations, residential and government maintenance contracts.
Brendan currently works in the REM team for Colliers as a Facilities Manager on the Doma Group portfolio managing over 45,000 sqm of mixed use NLA.
I am a building services professional with a Systems Engineering degree. With 4 years’ experience in one of Australia’s leading energy management consultancies in the commercial property space and growing capabilities within Colliers, I am well placed to drive additional value from commercial assets and manage risk with the Colliers International team.
My focus has historically been to drive additional value from property assets by performance managing Controls, Mechanical and Electrical services. In the last 5 years I have relied on technical systems analysis, project management and client management skills for outcome-focussed engagements.
Within Colliers ACT, I am one of two Facility Managers assigned to the Molonglo Group's portfolio of Nishi Commercial, NewActon Pavilion, 221 London Cct, 33 Allara St and the 1 Dairy Rd precinct.

My passion of property was founded in the Strata Management field in which i was involved with technical strata plans with significant building defects, new developments and high level of developer liaison skills.
I have devleoped my broad knowledge of facilities management skills working with various global realestate firms as a Senior Facilities Manager. During this time i have been responsible for the operational management of commercial office, warehouses and mixed retail space of over 50 000m2 A & B Grade assets.
