Upon my decision to retire from accounting to seek a career within the property industry, I began a 3 year Bachelor of Business (Property) degree at the University of South Australia in early 2009, participating in extra-curricular activities such as the 2010 Mentor Program, and the 2011 Pacific Rim Real Estate Society (PRRES) Case Competition. I was also awarded other accolades, including the School of Commerce (Honours) Scholarship (2011); and the Knight Frank Scholarship (2011).
Since the completion of my University studies, I have since undertaken various roles within the industry (in both Adelaide & Melbourne) for independent and international property firms, including:
- Research Analyst
- Database Administrator
- Assistant Property Manager
- Sales & Leasing Executive; and currently
- Property Manager
...giving me a broad understanding, skill set(s) and knowledge within many facets of the industry.
Commencing in late 2018 at Colliers International, I am responsible for the management of an Industrial & Office/Warehouse portfolio within and around Melbourne's South East and Western precincts; with each building ranging between 10,000sqm and 152,000sqm.

I'm an experienced Property and Asset Manager, having worked both agency and owner side across a range of assets including, retail, commercial and industrail. I am focused on building and developing strong relationships with both owners and tenants and delivering best practice standards across all facets of Asset and Property Management.
Don is a motivated & enthusiastic Facilities Manager with a positive, professional ‘can-do’ attitude. He has extensive experience in Facilities & Project Management which has been gained during a career spanning almost 18 years in the industry.
In past roles, Don has worked on such notable properties as County Court, Victoria as well as the MFB's Burnley Training College during the commissioning period. More recently Don was at Knight FM where he was Regional Facilities Services Manager for the VISY Industries account. This was a client-facing role which included managing the FM support for approx 65 sites across VIC, SA, WA & TAS. He held this position for more than 4 years before making the move to Colliers where he currently works on the Blackstone portfolio, managing 21 properties which house around 60 industrial tenants.
Other relevant experience includes a strong working knowledge of GreenStar Design & As-Built, NABERS Accredited Assessor training, management of Builder's Defect Liability Periods (DLP) & 30+ years as an active CFA volunteer.
In addition to his career in FM, Don has more than 20 years of hands-on experience in construction, electrical, electronics, metal trades & maintenance industries which has given him an excellent understanding of all things building-related.
