Multi-award winning Australian chef and restaurateur secures iconic and historic site on Russell Street
In a leasing deal facilitated by Colliers International’s Stephanie Harding, Mr McConnell will lease 384sqm on the ground floor at 33 Russell Street on a seven-year lease.
"33 Russell Street is a truly impressive and historic site and one of Melbourne's most beautiful rooms. Opportunities like this are a rare find and when they come along it is really exciting,” Mr McConnell said. “The room deserves to to be celebrated.”
Formerly home to Bang & Olufsen, the high-profile corner site is located within a commanding heritage building with sought after Russell Street frontage.
“We are excited to work with and welcome one of Australia’s most successful and well-known chefs to this iconic building at the heart of the Melbourne’s CBD culinary heartland,” Ms Harding said.
“This golden mile of real estate has cemented its status as the CBD’s preeminent hospitality hot spot and demand for space in this tightly held precinct is as strong as ever.
“We are working with a growing number of landlords and tenants to repurpose sites for food and beverage use to open up opportunities given the limited availability of existing hospitality space.”
