As Managing Director of Colliers in Cairns, I am a property industry specialist who has actively been involved with the industry since 1987. Having worked in such a relatively small market I have developed broad experience in all facets of the industry, including sales and leasing in commercial, industrial, property management, residential, rural and project sales.
Being born in North Queensland and with a family history in property in the region, I have developed a strong knowledge of properties and people throughout the area from Townsville north, including Cape York and the Torres Strait Islands. Things don’t always work the same in cities as they do in the more “country areas” and it is this local knowledge that brings value to transactions.
Much of my career has involved working out strategies on challenging property situations, including Receiverships, Mortgagee and local Government Sales. As a Licensed Auctioneer of both property and plant & equipment, I have been fortunate enough to conduct Auctions and consultancies in varied locations and situations including the Northern Territory, South Australia, PNG and Indonesia, as well as the South Island of New Zealand.
I specialise in Project Marketing, Residential Development Sites, Sales and Leasing of CBD Commercial properties and businesses, as well as Hotel and Leisure Properties. My experience and knowledge has allowed me to develop a comprehensive knowledge of these areas, which reflects in the volume of property transactions I have been responsible for throughout my career. This includes setting a number of benchmark sales in the Cairns region over 12 years.
My real passion lies in working with clients to achieve their desired outcomes and my established long-term relationships allow me to utilise my diverse and well qualified client networks to close sales and leasing transactions.
I have broadened my sales skills over a period of 20 years across Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom, with my sales experience spanning electronic media, print media, hospitality and the property industry. My direct media experience includes Fairfax Newspapers, Australian Provincial Newspapers, Great Western Radio and Channel 7, which have allowed me to provide clients with hands-on sales expertise when it comes to choosing the most effective methods to market their property in today's competitive market.
Charlie Torrisi has a 30 year history in property and construction, having operated his own building firm specialising in residential, multi-unit and commercial construction throughout north Queensland.’
As a fully licensed Real Estate Agent Charlie brings this unique knowledge to the commercial property sector with a full understanding of not only the practicalities’ of construction but also the costs and timeframes, giving him a real edge in the market. I have successfully marketed and sold a range of residential projects and unique commercial properties. My experience in the sales and marketing of residential projects and the knowledge of the region make me a key source for developers of residential projects on the Marlin Coast.
I have worked in the real estate industry for 21 years and have established a name for myself in the region, working as a surveyor for 23 years from as far south as Cardwell up to Papua New Guinea. Overall, my background in real estate, surveying and landscaping, combined with my strong and long term relationships with regional builders makes me a very valuable asset to our team and a power house of land sales.
