Dr Diaswati (Asti ) Mardiasmo is the National Research Manager at PRDnationwide; responsible for delivering property asset related research services to all 105 PRD franchises across Australia and beyond, and contributing to research products for a variety of government, academia, organisation, and private stakeholders.
Asti is no stranger to research; having completed a PhD in Asset Infrastructure and Management, Master of Business (Research) in Public Administration and Governance, and working on numerous research projects for government and industry. Asti’s motto is research is the way of life; where she is passionate in exploring why things happen, how to strategically find a solution, and how to use information in decision making. Asti views property as a ‘treasured asset’, one that must be managed correctly in order to gain maximum value. Hence she is a firm believer that good, quality research is the key in making good decisions in any aspect of property.
Asti has published her work widely in a range on internationally acclaimed academic conferences, practitioner conferences, journals, book chapters, and published reports. Asti contributed to writing of ‘Guide to Integrated Strategic Asset Management’, released by the Australian Asset Management Collaborative Group in 2012. Asti is also a sessional academic at Queensland University of Technology, providing lectures and tutorials in subjects such as: economics, international business strategy, intercultural communication and negotiation, and entrepreneurship.
Asti actively establishes strategic research collaborations through her active participation as part of the executive committee for the World Congress in Asset Management, Commercial and Property Law Research Centre (QUT), The Asset Institute (Australia), Centre for Emergency and Disaster Management (QUT), the Brisbane International Business Woman working group (an initiative of the Brisbane Lord Mayor Multicultural Roundtable), and Australia-Indonesia Business Council.
