Karen has over twenty years of experience in the hotel industry and holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She brings with her a specialised knowledge of the Asia Pacific hotel investment market and an ability to drive fresh capital into Australia’s hotel markets. She has developed an exceptional network over the past two years across Asia and the Middle East and within government, in her capacity as Senior Investment Specialist Tourism Infrastructure at Austrade and her knowledge of new entrants into the growing Australian tourism sector is second to none.
Accomplishments
Chair of the advisory group for MSCI’s Hotel Index and previously on the Federal Government of Australia’s Tourism Research Advisory Board and on the Tourism Forecasting Technical Committee which provided industry input to Australia’s ten year tourism forecasts.
Consulting expertise and a proven track record providing strategic investment advice to owners, operators and government.
Hosted hotel and tourism investment attraction roundtables in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
Participation in the Federal Government’s Northern Australia investment forum which brought 350 investors from 20 countries to Darwin in late 2015. Karen was responsible for the speakers and content in the Tourism Infrastructure session.
