Professional Summary
My industry focus has led me to work with a variety of clients in the Hotels & Student Accommodation sector, providing a variety of valuation, advisory and feasibility services. This has exposed me to a suite of unique and exciting 'going concern' properties and projects Australia wide.
I have been fortunate enough to work across a broad variety of accommodation assets including boarding houses (traditional and new generation), motels, hotels, resorts, purpose-built student accommodation (PBSA), co-living, car parks and major tourist attractions.
Learning experiences in the past have included investor management, facilities management, property management and dealing with high-maintenance and distressed properties.
Keen to assist where I can to help unlock opportunities for owners, operators and parties interested in the accommodation sector.
Accomplishments
2019 - Assisted in providing the aquisition valuations for the Atira Student Living and Urbanest student accommodation portfolios for the successful purchaser, Scape Australia.
2013-16 - Operated a high-maintenance, central Sydney CBD asset held by a religious entity containing a K - Year 6 Private School, migration support service centre, blood donation clinic, 3,300sqm of mixed retail and offices for the Sydney Diocese for the Anglican Church.
2013 - Working as joint head of BlackWall Property Funds (ASX:BWF) commercial and industrial property portfolio.

I have been involved in the real estate industry for over 20 years and commenced my career at L.J Hooker. After graduating from a Bachelor of Property Economics Degree in 2004, I took up a position with the NSW Department of Commerce valuing a number of government owned assets across the state of NSW.
In 2007, I joined the Colliers Hotels & Leisure Valuation team where I had the opportunity to value a wide cross section of accommodation and leisure type properties, across Australia. In March 2009, I transferred to the Colliers South Sydney team and have been involved in a cross section of commercial, industrial and residential properties, along with the opportunity to value various types of 'Going Concern' properties including hotels, budget accommodation, student accommodation, boarding houses and car parks facilities.
In 2013, I transferred to the Sydney CBD office, where my primary focus is hotels, student accommodation, backpackers and other accommodation properties.

I have been involved in valuing most of the major Australian Hotel Portfolios and a variety of significant leisure properties including Island Resorts,Golf Courses and Caravan Parks. My career highlights would have to include valuing iconic Australian Resorts such as Ayers Rock and Lizard Island plus some of the top resorts in the world in French Polynesia.

Guy has over 10 years of property experience with the primary focus over this time on the Hotel and Student Accommodation market originally in the valuation division and more recently. Guy qualified as a valuer in April 2011 and specialised in the valuation of hotel and leisure assets providing valuation and consultancy advice for a variety of property classes including accommodation hotels, gaming venues, pubs, clubs, motels, tourist parks and reception centres until early 2014.
Since then Guy has specialised in the the hotel and student accommodation sectors as a Sales agent with a broad base of experience in the sales of pubs, motels, hotels, and student accommodation assets. Guy has been actively involved in the growth of the Student Accommodation sector across Australia particularly within Melbourne transacting a number of sites to a wide variety of major operators.
In addition to traditional real estate sales, Guy undertakes Hotel Management Agreement negotiations having worked for Salta Properties (Hotel Indigo - Docklands), Vicinity Centres (Hotel Chadstone - M Gallery by Sofitel) and Century Group (St Regis Melbourne) amongst others.

Having joined Colliers in early 2014, I have subsequently sold over $180 million of hotel assets across Victoria and NSW, including the largest hotel transaction in Victoria since 2008, being Bell City Preston for $143 million.
Prior to joining Colliers, I was Director of Asset Management for Tourism Asset Holdings Limited (TAHL), Australia's largest hotel owner and responsible for selling down this portfolio totalling over $1.5 billion.
Before TAHL, I was with Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels for 7 years, as Head of Asset Management and Chief Operating Officer for the Hotels group across Asia Pacific.

Karen has over twenty years of experience in the hotel industry and holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Graduate School of Management. She brings with her a specialised knowledge of the Asia Pacific hotel investment market and an ability to drive fresh capital into Australia’s hotel markets. She has developed an exceptional network over the past two years across Asia and the Middle East and within government, in her capacity as Senior Investment Specialist Tourism Infrastructure at Austrade and her knowledge of new entrants into the growing Australian tourism sector is second to none.
I have over 13 years experience in tourism, accommodation and consulting. I have worked at the Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF) as a Tourism Policy Manager focussing on the accommodation sector. Prior to joining TTF I worked in the London and Sydney offices of Cushman & Wakefield Hospitality as a Senior Hotel Consultant.

I joined Colliers International in 2019 as Assistant Valuer, Hotels for the Valuation & Advisory Services team. I specialise in hotel valuations across both single assets and portfolios.
Our services range from financial reporting valuations, insurance requirements, mergers, acquisition and disposal, rent reviews, due diligence reporting to capital raising and feasibility studies.
In addition, I am in my final year of studying a Bachelor of Property Economics at University of Technology Sydney.
I maintain an active role, outside of Colliers International, in the wider property industry as Member of the Young Property Professionals, Australian Property Institute.
For 30 years, Nigel’s career in the hotel industry has spanned hotel operations and finance, working for leading hotel operators and more recently, heading two of Australia’s leading wholesale hotel investment funds.
Prior to joining Colliers, Nigel spent 10 years as the Fund Manager of Eureka Fund Managements First Core Fund. The fund comprised hotel investment in branded hotels such as InterContinental, Four Seasons, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn. He led the fund team in establishing an investment in over $1.0bn of hotels in Australia and New Zealand. Nigel was responsible for the entire fund strategy of acquisition, repositioning, asset management, equity and debt capital strategies and exit strategy.
Nigel commenced the hotel investment stage of his career with Colonial First State Property as an Asset Manager for the portfolio of Marriott hotels in Australia before taking the funds lead role as Fund Manager.
In the early part of Nigel’s career, he held a number of Finance Director roles for Southern Pacific Hotels Corporation (now IHG) in Australia and the Pacific. After a period, as Regional Director of Finance for the Northern half of Australia he established his own hotel finance consulting group which provided accounting and financial related services to hotel operators and owners in Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu and Fiji.
