NABERS ratings renewed at Colliers International’s Perth office

5 star NABERS Energy Rating, 4 star NABERS Indoor Environment Rating for CBD office.

Colliers International has strengthened its leadership role in Perth’s office market with the renewal of its 5 star NABERS Energy Tenancy Rating and 4 star Indoor Environment Rating for the firm’s two-level office at 197 St George's Terrace.

Colliers International Sustainability Manager Patrick Jeannerat said confirmation the Perth office had maintained its high standing was an important demonstration of Colliers’ ability to guide landlords and tenants towards healthier and more efficient work places.

“We know energy efficient tenancies deliver cost savings and that a healthy and comfortable work environment can substantially increase productivity and is increasingly seen as a critical factor in staff retention,” Mr Jeannerat said.

“The tenancy ratings were also made possible by the commitment from building owner GDI Property Group, which has ensured the base building at 197 St Georges Terrace consistently achieves best practice performance.

“With a 5 star NABERS Energy rating, a 5 star Indoor Environment Rating and a 4.5 star Water Rating, 197 St Georges Terrace is one of Perth’s best performing office buildings.”

Colliers International’s Perth office is currently one of just two tenants in Australia to publically disclose its NABERS Indoor Environment Rating.

As part of the indoor environment assessment, air quality, lighting and acoustic samples were taken and a comprehensive staff survey to measure occupant satisfaction was carried out.

“This survey enabled us to gather statistic feedback on perceived comfort levels and was also an important opportunity to engage with staff and prioritise opinions on how to further improve our office environment,” Mr Jeannerat said.

“As a signatory to the national CitySwitch Green Office Program, Colliers International’s Perth office is committed to maintaining its high energy performance for its office tenancy.”

The CitySwitch program is Australia’s leading support platform and is free to all private and governmental offices across the country who wish to improve their practices around health and wellbeing, energy, waste and low greenhouse gas emissions.
