Colliers International has negotiated several significant office leasing transactions over 1,000sqm in the tightly held Box Hill market in the past month.
Serco Australia has expanded its operations in Box Hill with the addition of more than 4,000sqm at the recently refurbished 990 Whitehorse Road on a six year lease with options. The deal was negotiated by Colliers International’s Kevin Tutty.
“Serco was drawn to this building for its large, efficient floor plates and the high quality of the recent refurbishment,” Mr Tutty said.
810 Whitehorse Road will be the new home for the expanding Box Hill Superclinic brand, which is expected to open in February 2016. Box Hill Superclinic has leased the ground floor for 10 years in a deal facilitated by Mr Tutty and Travis Myerscough.
Mr Tutty and colleague Michael Darvell also negotiated a deal to secure Planet Innovation at 37-41 Prospect Street.
“Planet Innovation, another expanding company, has committed to an additional 1,300sqm,” Mr Darvell said. “Already located in the immediate vicinity, 37-41 Prospect Street was an obvious choice for Planet Innovation who had an immediate requirement for additional space."
Mr Tutty said: “More than 9,000sqm of vacancy has been leased in Box Hill in the last month. This will place significant downward pressure on the overall office vacancy rate in the precinct."
“Box Hill is seen as an attractive business location due to its educated workforce, proximity to public transport and high level of amenity. We expect to see this trend continue.”
