The former Fairfield Fire Station, located at 3 William St, Fairfield, has sold for $1.5million at auction.
The 955sqm site is zoned for mixed use, providing a great opportunity for mixed use retail, commercial, education and/or residential developments in the future.
“We had strong interest from local owners, property developers, owner-occupiers and opportunistic investors,” said selling agent, Harry Bui of Colliers International. “Competition at the auction was strong, with 20 people in attendance. The purchaser was a private developer who bought the property with plans to retain the front heritage building for a commercial investment and redevelop the balance of the site for a mixed use development in the near future.
“The selling price was $400,000 above the reserve, indicating the ongoing demand for well-located investment opportunities with a range of usage options.”
Fire & Rescue NSW has recently relocated to their new premises on Fairfield Street, Fairfield East making the asset at 3 William Street, surplus to their needs. This sale comes on the back of the Cabramatta Fire Station that sold earlier this year for $2.1million.
