Two new high end retailers, AG Designer Jeweller and ESQ Male Grooming have moved into Tattersall’s Arcade in Brisbane CBD taking up 27sqm and 49sqm tenancies respectively on a 5 year term with a 5 year option.
Sam Degn, Retail Leasing Executive at Colliers International who negotiated the leases within three weeks, said the two local retailers have snapped up the most recent vacancy in the arcade, both catering to the clientele of the distinguished Tattersall’s Club.
“Off the back of the luxury retail demand along Queen and Edward Streets, it is rare to find a vacant tenancy in a location such as Tattersall’s Arcade. AG Designer Jeweller was seeking space in a more prominent location after establishing his business in the Brisbane Arcade about three years ago.
“The barber, ESQ Male Grooming who is based in Milton had a large portion of his clientele coming to him from the Brisbane City including Tattersall’s Club members. Opening his second store here has created more convenience and flexibility for this clientele to make appointments during the week.”
According to Ms Degn, since 1926 Tattersall’s Arcade has been one of Brisbane’s most prestigious shopping destinations centred in the thriving retail precinct on the corner of Queen and Edward Streets. “The Arcade currently houses an array of fashion and speciality local as well as international retailers.
“Edward Street is continuing to evolve with proposed street scape improvements and is catching the attention of global luxury retailers. Recent luxury retail commitments in the precinct include H&M, Zara, Uniqlo, Forever 21 and Top Shop who have all taken up prime Queen Street mall and surrounding high profile positions.
“There are currently 18 brands in Australia that are not yet represented in Queensland. Our recent engagements with a number of these groups indicate they have interest in coming to Brisbane over the next three years,” said Ms Degn.
