Brian McInally to lead childcare sector, drawing on diverse property experience.
Colliers International has appointed Brian McInally to the role of Associate Director, Transaction Services in the Childcare sector, meeting a growing need for both private and institutional clients looking to expand their footprint in the burgeoning childcare sector.
Working as part of the Healthcare & Retirement Living (HRL) team, Mr McInally will lead the childcare property sector for Colliers International nationally across sales, leasing and development opportunities.
“Childcare is a unique property class as it is spread across many sectors from retail to office and industrial,” said Mr McInally. “By having a specialist in the sector, childcare operators will have access to a comprehensive range of opportunities, while investors looking to sell or lease a childcare asset will benefit from the expertise we have in the sector. We will also be able to assist developers looking to incorporate a childcare space, with advice on needs and features required right through to potential operators for the space.”
Childcare in Australia has been on the national agenda for some time and is an important element in growing productivity. With around 1,000,000 children (Source: ABS) attending formal childcare each year, the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority National Register shows there are more than 15,000 childcare centres across Australia.
“As a property class, childcare has previously fallen within other property sectors, but the rapid growth within the industry deems this will be a major opportunity for property investors and developers in future years,” said Mr McInally.
Mr McInally has been with Colliers International since 2010, most recently as Associate Director in the Investment Services team where he was involved in numerous childcare sales across the Sydney CBD and Metro areas for both private and institutional clients.
“Brian’s addition in the Childcare sector continues the expansion of our HRL team and follows the successful addition of experts in Manufactured Housing Estates in 2015,” said Will Doherty, National Executive Director, Colliers International. “By building expertise in specialised areas such as childcare and manufactured housing estates, in addition to the more traditional sectors, clients will continue to have access to detailed knowledge and information to maximise the value of their property portfolios.”
