Melbourne East office to lease 550sqm at Chadstone’s “commercial capital”

In a move to provide its staff with best-in-class facilities, Colliers International has signed a lease for 550sqm on level seven in Tower One at Chadstone Shopping Centre from January.

The Victorian branch of the business’ Melbourne East office will relocate to the shopping centre on Dandenong Road from its Wellington Road location in Mulgrave, where it has operated from for the past 12 years.

Colliers International’s Office Leasing team negotiated the 10-year lease with shopping-centre owners Gandel Group and Vicinity Centres, after being appointed the sole leasing agents for the tower.

“In line with Colliers International’s 2020 Enterprise Plan, the move will help us accommodate our projected growth and enhance our platform to deliver the client service excellence we’re known for,” Melbourne East director Rob Joyes said.

Mr Joyes said one of the key reasons for relocating to Chadstone was to provide a complete workplace offering for employees and clients.

“High-calibre amenity within metro environments is becoming increasingly important and this is what we aim to deliver our people,” he said.

“Chadstone suits our pursuit of a best-in-class building in metro Melbourne and is in line with our commitment to people retention and recruitment. It’s a family-friendly facility, with a childcare service, gym and bus to the city.”

As part of Colliers International’s strategic expansion, the Melbourne East office has bolstered its staff count with three new recruits, Rachael Clohesy, a valuer from Urbis, David Minton, a sales agent from Gorman Kelly and Dorothy He, a sales agent from CBRE.

“We are excited to announce these additions as part of our overall business growth and expansion plans for 2017,” Mr Joyes said.

Colliers International joins Shaver Shop, The Body Shop, Gandel Group, Vicinity Centres, SunRice, Victory Corporate Serviced Offices and Sigma Pharmaceuticals as tenants in Tower One.

“We were able to achieve 100 per cent occupancy at Tower One within 12 months as a result of our targeted leasing strategy,” Mr Joyes said.
