New leadership for Colliers International Gold Coast office
Darrell Irwin has been appointed as the new Director in Charge of Colliers International’s Gold Coast office. His focus is to lead the business which has strong market presence across industrial, retail, office, commercial, residential projects and development site sectors, offering sales, leasing and real estate management services.
Darrell is a well-respected figure in the Gold Coast property circles whose career spans 26 years. The last 12 years has been with Colliers International, where Darrell will now operate in a dual role capacity as the Director in Charge and National Director specialising in development site sales.
Darrell possesses strong market presence and trusted relationships with private developers, institutions and the local government. Prior to Colliers, he ran his own development consultancy and worked for two prominent development groups on the Gold Coast.
“I am proud to be leading the Colliers International business on the Gold Coast at a time when there are many opportunities for future growth,” Mr Irwin said.
“With all of the infrastructure development that is happening in the City and the strength of the tourism sector, we are seeing a positive flow-on effect across the board, including the real estate market. We anticipate this will continue until the 2018 Commonwealth Games and beyond.
“In addition, the Asian investors particularly from China, continue to seek opportunities across commercial as well as tourism and residential development sectors on the Gold Coast.
“In the last few years we have built strong relationships with the offshore buyers through Colliers International’s Australian Investment Showcase initiative. Working alongside colleagues from 39 offices in Asia, we can access outbound Asian investment before it even arrives in Australia,” said Mr Irwin.
Darrell replaces Cameron Wilson who has taken up a new opportunity to work independently as a consultant in commercial real estate sector on the Gold Coast.
