The Occupier Services team at Colliers International has delivered an integrated, end-to-end property solution for insurance leader Jardine Lloyd Thompson Australia (JLTA) in Melbourne. The team provided workplace strategy, tenant advisory, interior design, technology solutions and project management to JLTA for their new Melbourne offices at 570 Bourke Street. This is the first of two premises, with the team currently working on design development for the new Sydney head office in Grosvenor Place.
“We have ensured a consistent and personalised look and feel across the JLTA project, which incorpates two offices in different states,” Rebecca Pelling, head of Project Services at Colliers International, said. “The new JLTA offices in Melbourne, and Sydney in 2017, support JLTA’s core business offerings, allows for enhancing client engagement and support staff collaboration. It’s been a fantastic project for our team to work on and demonstrates the end-to-end services we can provide to our clients."
The project began with the Workplace Strategy team developing a strategy that sought to consolidate JLT’s space requirements, followed by Tenant Advisory securing a premises on favourable lease terms. Colliers International’s design team transformed JLTA’s workspace through improved utilisation and multi-functional spaces. These design standards have been applied to both the Melbourne and Sydney workplaces to maintain consistency. As project managers for the project, Colliers International managed a fast-track program and negotiated competitive supplier agreements for both sites, delivering financial efficiencies to JLTA.
Ben Hann, Victorian director of Project Services at Colliers International said: “Colliers’ integrated model, combined with JLTA’s active participation in the design process and accessibility to key decision-makers, ensured that the momentum of the project delivered an increased speed to market. Together these factors resulted in a great outcome for pricing, the team and overall program."
Technology Solutions, Colliers International’s specialist solutions team that focuses on technology within premises and workplace projects, developed the IT and audio-visual brief and designed the cabling in the communications room. Technology Solutions led the integration of JLT’s chosen technology within the overall fitout project and closely managed the external vendors to ensure they met the specified requirements and quality standards.
Technology Solutions also successfully relocated JLTA’s national core infrastructure from its Sydney office to an external purpose-built data centre in Alexandria. The project to relocate JLT’s server room offsite included moving 66 pieces of network, storage and computer IT infrastructure to the offsite location. The project was completed seamlessly on a Saturday to ensure no disruption to the day-to-day operations of JLTA’s business.
“JLTA is a long-standing client and a great example of a client leveraging the various integrated services offered by Occupier Services,” Doug Henry, managing director of Occupier Services at Colliers International, said. “We’ve provided an end-to-end solution for JLTA in their relocation and delivery of offices in both Melbourne and Sydney.
“Like JLTA, we are continually seeing more clients wanting the same consistency across their offices in various locations. Organisations want their clients to feel the same warmth and familiarity when they walk into an office in Sydney, as they will when visiting the same company in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth.
“We would like to acknowledge Simon Crouch, Alex Laughlan, Ben Hann, Kevin Burman, Stuart Wilson and Simon Street for delivering a great outcome on this project."
The JLTA Sydney offices are currently underway and expected to be completed in early 2017. For more information regarding this project, please contact Ms Pelling.
