PIF's 2016 Charity Yachting Regatta to raise funds for the homeless

The Property Industry Foundation’s (PIF) Annual Charity Yachting Regatta will be held tomorrow, Friday 11 March, 2016 to help raise much needed funds for homeless young people living on the streets.

Sponsored by Colliers International, the event will be hosted at the Middle Harbour Yacht Club in Mosman, with the target of echoing last year’s fundraising efforts of over $500,000.

Entries have been flooding in with almost 40 teams already registered including Colliers International, BRI Ferrier, KPMG, Charter Hall, Lend Lease, Frasers Property Group and UBS.

The event sees over 100 yachts competing and is expected to involve around 2,000 people from within the industry, with proceeds going towards the PIF House Program.

PIF House program is an initiative whereby a home is constructed by PIF to accommodate up to ten homeless young people looking to make positive changes to their lives.

The construction of two PIF Houses at Dundas will begin this year using the funds raised from the 2015 and 2016 Regattas.

An “African Dance Beat” themed beach party will be held at Middle Harbour Yacht Club after the Regatta.  For updates on the regatta, follow the hashtags #pifregatta, #sail4homelessyouth and #rebuildinglives on social media.
