Colliers International to lease new Great Ocean Road shopping centre
Agents are preparing for an influx of retailers keen to secure a slice of Colac’s newest retail destination.
Colliers International’s Bernard Canning and Ben Young have been appointed to lease a range of retail spaces, from 79sqm to 248sqm, at Colac Plaza on behalf of Colac Commercial PTY/LTD (acting on behalf of Lascorp Development Group Aust).
“This brand new, state-of-the-art shopping centre will be centrally located on Queen Street in Colac and will include a brand new major Coles Supermarket (4,300sqm), Liquorland (220sqm) and around five specialty retail shops,” Mr Canning said.
“This exciting shopping centre will become one of Colac’s premier retail hubs, boasting a proposed pharmacy, café, takeaway plus hair and beauty, among other retailers."
Due to open in early 2017, Colac Plaza will incorporate ample on-grade car parking and service a busy town centre with a main trade population of about 11,299, along with several surrounding suburbs and rural areas.
“Colac is one of the largest towns in the Great Ocean Road region,” Mr Young said. “Less than an hour’s drive from Geelong and central to spectacular elements of the Great Ocean Road, Colac Plaza will support continued growth throughout the region."
Lascorp Development Group is a specialist retail developer primarily involved in the development of supermarket-based shopping centres across Victoria and Queensland.
“We are very excited about this Coles-based development and are thrilled to be offering Colac residents a new and exciting shopping experience,” Matt Lasky, Director at Lascorp Development Group, said. “We are keen to attract local traders to join us in this state-of-the-art shopping centre.
“We have a great deal of faith in the Colac region and look forward to developing this shopping centre, which we feel will be a great addition to the town and provide a real choice for the residents.”
