Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services (CIVAS) has announced that employees will have access to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) development programme from 1 September 2016.
“RICS is delighted that international property powerhouse, Colliers International, is among the first firms to sign up to the APC Development Programme in Australia. Across the Oceania region, more and more firms recognise the benefit not only of global qualifications, but equally the benefit of internally-consistent, professional training for staff wishing to attain the world’s leading built environment credentials,” Allan Matthews, RICS National Membership Manager said.
“Colliers International has taken the first steps to equipping the next generation of professionals with the essential skills they will require to grow their potential in a global marketplace. With a global membership of more than 118,000 across the world, recognition as an RICS professional is an essential accreditation for those aspiring to a career in the land, construction, real estate and infrastructure sectors,” Mr Matthews said.
Dwight Hillier, Managing Director, Valuation & Advisory Services at Colliers International said, “Colliers is committed to ensuring that our people are the best in the industry and that means delivering the best training and mentoring programmes.”
“The APC is an industry-leading programme with a focus on developing professional standards across the property industry and delivering a pathway to RICS membership which will benefit our people and our clients.”
“We recognise the importance of investing in our people which is why we have identified 20 candidates to undertake the inaugural APC programme, representing a significant proportion of the CIVAS business.”
Under the APC development programme, new graduates and property professionals are guided through the process of qualifying for membership of RICS and gaining the coveted ‘Chartered’ status – the highest qualification in the property industry.
RICS is the leading global industry body for valuation professionals and supports the property profession through the implementation of standards, regulation, training and events.
“Our partnership with RICS reflects the position of Colliers as a global commercial property services firm and provides our people with a passport to the world of global property,” said Dwight Hillier.
“Accreditation will take 12-24 months, under the guidance of RICS, and means our people will now have unparalleled opportunities to grow their careers with the support of our existing training regime and industry-leading platform.”
Colliers International currently supports its staff through a range of training opportunities which includes Colliers University, a dedicated learning resource of 1,700 courses, webinars and e-learning courses, which will complement the APC programme.
