Colliers International, Savills Hotels appointed to sell modern boutique hotel north-east of Melbourne
Colliers International and Savills Hotels have been appointed to offer an opportunity to acquire Vibe Marysville a new, modern hotel with extensive facilities nestled amongst a range of popular Victorian tourist destinations.
Colliers International’s Stephen Burt and Guy Wells, in conjunction with Michael Simpson and Nic Simarro of Savills Hotels, have been appointed to sell the Vibe Hotel at 32-42 Murchison Street in Marysville.
Located 90 minutes’ drive from the Melbourne CBD, the Vibe Marysville services not only local visitors but those travelling to popular nearby destinations including the Yarra Valley, Healesville and Lake Mountain.
“The hotel is the economic and social focal point of the township, providing financial, employment and social infrastructure benefits to the community. It is widely supported by locals, as well as Australian and international tourists,” Mr Wells said.
In addition, the State Government had demonstrated its support for the hotel and the township by delivering substantial MICE business to the hotel since its opening. The following Local and State Government organisations have all held conferences at the hotel: Department of Environment Land Water and Planning, Ambulance Victoria, Murrindindi Shire Council, VicRoads, Country Fire Authority, Outlook Victoria, Department of Premier & Cabinet, Victoria Police and Parks Victoria.
The development of the hotel reflects a successful joint venture project which has helped drive economic activity in the town of Marysville and surrounding Murrindindi Shire. Since its opening, the hotel has become the focal point of the town with its ability to draw in visitors to experience Marysville and its wonderful surrounds while accommodated within a first class hotel.
The 18,260sqm property incorporates 101 upscale hotel rooms and suites, five highly flexible conference and pre-function spaces (445sqm) catering for up to 480 guests, a diverse food and beverage offering and amenities including a heated pool, tennis court, gym, sauna and day spa.
The Radius Bar and Grill has the ability to be separately leased to a specialist operator, with the success of other food offerings in the Yarra Valley testament to the appeal of the region.
“Marysville is located within close proximity to a number of natural tourist destinations,” Mr Simpson said. “Famous for cross country skiing and tobogganing, Lake Mountain is only 20km away, with many tourists utilising Marysville as a base over the winter months.
“The area is also well known for its markets, both in Marysville and surrounding towns, as well as its mountain and scenic bike riding, walks, waterfalls and famous wineries.
“Marysville is nestled in the foothills of Melbourne’s closest alpine resort region and also offers easy access to the picturesque Yarra Valley, home to some of Australia’s finest wineries. Hotel guests can take in an array of activities all within a short drive of the Vibe Marysville."
Mr Wells said the property was available with the opportunity for vacant possession, allowing a successful investor to select an external operator or creating an ideal opportunity for an owner/operator looking to take a new boutique hotel to the next stage of its business development as one of regional Australia’s finest hotel and conference venues.
The property is for sale by Expressions of Interest closing at 3pm on Thursday June 23, 2016.
