2017 proves an exceptional year for Victorian Project Management team

Colliers International’s Victorian Project Management team has gone from strength to strength in 2017 completing multiple projects on behalf of government, corporate and private clients in both Melbourne and interstate.

These projects encompassed a wide variety of services including due diligence, make goods, tenancy reviews, office fitouts and refurbishment works.

Led by John Stalley who joined Colliers International from the newly acquired Nix Anderson, and closely supported by Associate Director’s Rachel Otto and Lee-Anne Koh, this year alone, the Melbourne Project Management team has completed a series of projects covering over 50,000sqm and a total value exceeding $36 million.

Throughout 2017 the Colliers International Project Management team has collaborated with other teams across the business to deliver a truly integrated service to their clients. Examples of the collaborative services delivered are reflected in the CGI Technologies and Amcor Limited projects.

CGI Technologies

CGI utilised Colliers Tenant Advisory and Project Management to deliver an integrated solution for their new Southbank, Melbourne, office. After recognising their previous location in Box Hill did not align with CGI’s innovative business model, and having used Colliers Tenant Advisory services in Sydney, CGI appointed the Melbourne Tenant Advisory team to source and secure alternate accommodation solutions that not only support, but enhance core business objectives.  The Tenant Advisory team also effectively managed the lease legacy at Box Hill, successfully negotiating an outcome that removed risk and financial exposure associated with potential rental overlap and make-good of those premises.

The new office features plenty of natural light and stunning views of the Southbank promenade.

The Colliers Project Management team managed CGI’s new office fitout, successfully overcoming challenges relating to delayed completion of landlord base building works and the flow-on effects that impacted the fit-out period and associated critical dates.

Communication, detailed programming and landlord negotiations were key to overcoming challenges and the successful delivery of the project.

The new office meets CGI’s objective to reflect the evolution of the business, creating a workplace that is collaborative and innovative, with meeting spaces strategically placed around the office to promote teamwork and culture within the business.

The office features inbuilt flexibility to accommodate casual meetings, collaboration, lunch breaks and events.

The workplace plays an important role in the attraction and retention of staff and feedback from CGI on the outcome of the project has been extremely positive.

Colliers’ Tenant Advisory team represents CGI nationally, with other projects currently taking place in Sydney and Brisbane.


The Portfolio and Transaction Management within the Occupier Services at Colliers have been working with Amcor for over 15 years, managing their lease and transaction portfolio across Australia.

Earlier this year, the Tenant Advisory and Portfolio and Transaction Management teams worked together to source accommodation options following Amcor’s lease expiry in Hawthorn. Having decided on a new location in Southbank, the Project Management team developed and implemented the design of the new office and project managed the delivery throughout the course of the project.

The look and feel of the Melbourne office is in line with Amcor’s international design standards. The bold imagery and colours utilised throughout the workplace underscore Amcor’s brand and company values.

With their people at the heart of the company brand, the latest technology is installed in the boardroom and meeting rooms to connect Amcor staff with their global counterparts. The acoustic ceiling forms the shape of Amcor’s logo, subtly underscoring the corporate brand.

Amcor’s corporate identity and Melbourne’s vibrant culture are reflected in the colours, finishes and furniture selection.

Engaging the Project Management team at an early stage ensured the new office was completed to coincide with Amcor’s lease expiry.

The feedback from Amcor has been excellent, reporting that the new workspace has played an important role in attracting and retaining talented staff. The design is functional and has increased employee performance and creative thinking.
