Six new starters bolster Colliers International’s Adelaide-based REM team, as confidence in commercial property market grows
Colliers International has bolstered its Adelaide-based Real Estate Management team with six new senior recruits, as confidence in the city’s commercial property market grows.
Since January, the product line has appointed market leaders from Cushman Wakefield, Retpro, CBRE, JLL and two boutique real estate companies to manage a folio of about 30 properties.
Gavin Oxley joins Colliers International as a facilities manager from Cushman Wakefield, Layla Winter as a centre manager from Retpro, Alice Tarasenko as a property manager from CBRE, Nik Podnar as a facilities manager from JLL, Luke Richards as a property manager from a boutique property company and Lauren Smith as a retail leasing executive from another boutique property company.
Colliers International’s director of Real Estate Management for South Australia, Lyn Gray, said the city’s commercial property market had seen strong transaction volumes and improved enquiry for leasing in industrial and retail space in the past 10 to 12 months.
“There is strong demand from investors in the fringe and metro markets, as well as the commercial and retail asset classes,” she said.
“This has resulted in tightened vacancy for some areas of retail and industrial markets. As confidence and enquiry steadily increases in the Adelaide market, we have found cause to strengthen our REM team through the appointment of six senior management professionals.”
Ms Gray said there were several opportunities to reposition assets through a strong management and leasing strategy, as strength returned to the retail sector.
“Testament to the strong market conditions, Colliers International’s REM team has been appointed to about 30 properties in the past 12 months alone,” she said. “Most notably, these include the Thebarton Campus, Quest Port Adelaide, 232 Melbourne Street, Malvern 7 Day Centre, OG Road Klemzig and Dernancourt Shopping Centre.”
