Colliers International prepares for influx of enquiry in new large format retail destination
Bulky goods retailers are expected to compete for tenancies in Echuca’s new homemaker centre when construction commences in the coming months.
Colliers International’s Daniel Noonan has been appointed to lease a range of large format retail spaces, from 390sqm to 1,060sqm, on behalf of private developers.
“Anchored by drawcard Bunnings Warehouse, the new centre will have an outstanding presence with main road frontage, presenting strong signage potential,” he said.
“It is strategically positioned to benefit from Echuca’s vast retail catchment area, which is experiencing consistent growth in population. We’re already receiving strong interest.”
On the border of Victoria and New South Wales, Echuca’s homemaker centre will service its busy town centre, which has a main trade population of about 24,237*, as well as Moama and several surrounding rural areas.
“Echuca is Australia’s largest inland port, located on the banks of the Murray and Campaspe rivers, and is the largest settlement in the Shire of Campaspe,” Mr Noonan said.
“Its thriving tourism industry supports continued growth throughout the region.”
Mr Noonan said the shopping centre would be one of Echuca’s premier retail hubs when it opened, incorporating ample on-grade parking to cater to the influx of patrons.
“We aim to secure entertainment, medical, childcare and specialty retail services, among other retailers, to further boost the profile of the centre,” he said.
