Hong Kong Australia Business Association recognises Australian market leaders
Colliers International has again proven its enterprising spirit at the 2017 Hong Kong Australia Business Association (HKABA) Business Awards.
The Victorian business received a Business Excellence Award at the annual gala dinner, held at Palladium at Crown on Friday, which celebrated market-leading campaigns, initiatives and individuals across a variety of industries.
Rob Joyes, director in charge of Colliers International’s Melbourne South-East office at Chadstone, said the award nomination had come about due to the business’ ongoing work with Hong Kong-based company, Glorious Sun Enterprises.
“We are currently leasing the former Australian Taxation Office’s premises at 990 Whitehorse Road, Box Hill, for Glorious Sun,” he said.
“The 20,000sqm premises is now more than 65 per cent leased, with about 6,500sqm remaining to fill.”
Mr Joyes highlighted Colliers International’s continued efforts to network and build relationships with companies in Hong Kong.
“This award is not just for our efforts throughout the past year, it’s testament to the 25 years of hard work Colliers International has been doing to establish and cement our business as an Asia Markets leader in commercial property,” he said.
“Four years ago, we introduced our Australian Investment Showcase to cater to the offshore demand for Australian commercial property, with our objective being to engage with more Asian investors and develop their understanding of the market fundamentals in Australia.
“That initiative has since gone from strength to strength and now each year we take clients to 12 cities across Asia, marketing more than 120 Australian properties through more than 650 meetings with Asia-based investment groups. In the past four years, 10 showcases have resulted in extraordinary revenue – but more importantly, countless new relationships and networking successes.”
Colliers International’s associate director for Office Leasing, Kevin Tutty, who accepted the award on behalf of the business, said the award was a credit to all the work every product line had been doing to enhance their relationships with Hong Kong, Singapore, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Singapore, Beijing, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Seoul, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Jakarta.
“We’re excited to build on these relationships and this award gives us an incredible foundation to do so,” he said.
“The synergy between our Asia Markets teams and Hong Kong provides a vital connection between local and offshore investors, helping them find investment and development opportunities in Australia, and ultimately helping us deliver better results for our clients across the world.”
