Colliers International launches leasing campaign for shopping centre tenants.
Construction has started on a new neighbourhood shopping centre that will service the growing beachside community at Golden Bay.
Golden Bay Village, which is being developed by the Delstrat Group on the corner of Warnbro Sound Avenue and Aurea Boulevard, will be anchored by a 1000sqm IGA supermarket.
The leasing campaign is being run by Colliers International Executive Retail Leasing Hudson Wheeler who said the new centre would have 12 specialty stores with a liquor store, a medical centre, café, restaurant, hairdresser, beautician and a real estate agency expected in the final line up.
“Forecasts for strong population growth in Golden Bay will ensure good demand for the tenancies, which range from 50sqm to 320sqm,” Mr Wheeler said.
The shopping centre will be built by Seacrest and is due to be finished by the middle of 2018.
Designed by architectural and urban design practice Taylor Robinson, the shopping centre will have contemporary elements such as timber cladding, black glass, feature brickwork, embossed concrete and timber loggia.
Mr Wheeler said Golden Bay, which is 63km south of Perth, was a master-planned community that was attracting young families and sea-changers.
“With population growth of 4.3 per cent, Golden Bay is one of the fastest growing suburban areas in Australia and its main trade catchment area is expected to almost double by 2028,” he said.
