Offers considered for operational fruit processing plant at Ramco Heights
Offers are being considered for the former Crusta Fruit Juices processing plant, which is for sale with vacant possession, presenting growers, processers and other food and beverage handlers with an established industrial site ready for business.
Colliers International’s Paul Tierney and Jesse Manuel were appointed to the expressions of interest campaign for 24 Virgo Road, Ramco Heights, a versatile 4.071-hectare property with a building area of about 5,930sqm. Improvements include a warehouse, two processing plants and an office.
“The site is being offered for sale as an operational fruit processing plant, including cool rooms, freezers and storage, with plenty of land for expansion,” Mr Tierney said.
“In the heart of the citrus region of the Riverland, it is both well located and ideally set up for its purpose.
“Being offered with vacant possession, this is an ideal opportunity for a grower or processor to purchase a whole site solution at a fraction of the set-up cost.”
In addition to the 3,740sqm of plant area, the substantial commercial site has extensive cold and dry storage facilities, a laboratory, staff amenities, workshop, chemical store, significant water storage and water treatment plants.
“There are sundry other structures and improvements associated with food and beverage processing and storage activities ready to be utilised,” Mr Tierney said.
Mr Manuel said the property, 176 kilometres north-east of the Adelaide CBD, was strategically located for high exposure, easy access and ample water, including a 110-megalitre combined water licence.
“At the junction of Virgo and Ziegler roads, the prominent corner position benefits from a combined street frontage of about 392 metres,” he said.
“It’s close to the River Murray on the western side of the Riverland, one of Australia’s largest irrigated regions, which supports a vast range of agricultural-based industries.”
The property is situated within the District Council of Loxton Waikerie and is zoned for Primary Production.
