New lease negotiated by Colliers International will add four cinemas to Luna complex.
Luna Cinemas, one of Leederville’s landmark entertainment venues will expand into a neighbouring property following a lease negotiated by Colliers International.
The expansion will allow Luna Leederville, a popular venue in WA’s independent cinema market, to add four new cinemas to its screen offerings.
The new lease was coordinated by Colliers International Associate Director of Retail Leasing and Metro Sales Tim Scott who said Luna Leederville would take over 800sqm of space at the neighbouring property at 169-171 Oxford Street, previously occupied by a fishing and tackle shop.
“The retail property’s exterior will be retained but there will be a new internal fitout,” Mr Scott said.
Luna Leederville is owned by Perth’s independent arthouse cinema circuit, Luna Palace Cinemas.
The redevelopment was approved by the City of Vincent in June.
"I’m incredibly excited about this next phase for Luna Palace Cinemas,” said Ingrid van den Berghe, Luna Palace Cinema’s Managing Director.
“Leederville has been crying out for more screens and this location is perfect. I can't wait."
With its distinctive Art Deco style architecture and its café strip location, Mr Scott said Luna Leederville was one of Perth’s best known cinemas.
“The new lease will ensure Luna remains one of the anchor tenants in the heart of Leederville,” he said.
