Colliers International launches campaign for landmark mixed-use precinct
Targeted tenants are being canvassed for Melbourne’s largest mixed-use precinct, M-City Monash, due to open in March 2020.
Anchored by K-Mart and Woolworths, the landmark development on the Princes Highway will comprise a 26,500sqm sub-regional shopping centre, 17,000sqm commercial tower, 250-room premium hotel, six-screen Village Cinemas site, 631 residential apartments, a day care centre and more than 1,800 car spaces.
Colliers International’s Mike Crittenden, Daniel Ryan and Bernie Canning have been appointed to lease the retail component of the precinct, saying they had already been inundated with enquiries.
“M-City Monash will set a new benchmark for quality in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs, in the sub-regional category,” Mr Crittenden said.
“Comprising the best of home, work and leisure in one dynamic precinct, the new retail area will include a cinema, cafés and eateries to cater for one of Melbourne’s fastest-growing suburbs.”
Mr Crittenden said M-City had been carefully designed to deliver a seamless 24-hour lifestyle in the heart of the Monash Employment Cluster, minutes from Clayton’s renowned medical, education, and science hub, which currently employs more than 80,000 people.
“With its mix of four residential towers, a commercial building, premium hotel and expansive retail offering, this is a city in miniature,” he said.
“Residents and visitors will animate the precinct at all times of the day, with mini majors, a dining hall, health and wellness providers, and about 40 specialty stores to take care of daily shopping, health and social needs.
“Being one of Melbourne’s key growth corridors, a mixed-use precinct of this scale and quality was needed in Clayton to capitalise on the influx of residents, employees and students in the immediate area, perfectly complementing the offer at the nearby Springvale Homemaker Centre.”
Colliers International is finalising tenancy commitments from a daycare centre, fitness centre, pharmacy and other medical offerings.
Village Cinemas has also just committed to 2,800sqm at M-City Monash, introducing a cinema complex with six screens, more than 1,000 seats and a first-to-market food, beverage and entertainment component.
