New 3.5-hectare Hume Highway development to attract diverse retailers

Colliers International targets food, fuel, showroom operators to join Kennards Self Storage

A 3.5-hectare site at Craigieburn is primed for retailers and bulky goods operators, as developers rush to cater to the impending population boom of Melbourne’s northern growth corridor.

Colliers International’s Daniel Noonan and Cameron Henshaw have been appointed to market large format retail opportunities at 700-760 Hume Highway on behalf of Sam Kennard, of Kennards Self Storage.

“The owner will be putting one of his signature self-storage boxes on the northern parcel of land, leaving the rest open to a variety of businesses,” Mr Noonan said.

“We are targeting fuel and food operators for three drive-thru pad sites, and large format retailers to fill the remaining 5,000sqm.”

Mr Noonan said the campaign had already received strong interest from a range of end-users, including automotive, entertainment and large format retail, as well as service station, eatery and gym operators.

“The site is on the highway next to Bunnings Warehouse, an already prominent position just a few minutes from the town centre, providing prospective retailers with genuine opportunities for high-level exposure,” he said.

“Access is via driving north or south on the Hume, creating an extraordinary amount of daily passing traffic. Located in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor, strong population growth is anticipated for Craigieburn in the next few years, fuelling demand for amenity like this.”

The centre is expected to be completed by early 2018.
