Aged care building overlooking marina due to be finished in 2018.
Colliers International has launched a leasing campaign to find new retail tenants for the first mixed-use aged care development in WA and one of the first in Australia, which is being built on the waterfront at Port Coogee.
The six-storey Regis Aged Care facility includes 854sqm of ground floor retail space that is expected to be snapped up in leasing deals to restaurant/café operators and general retailers in the next few months.
Colliers International Manager Retail Leasing and Metro Sales Tim Scott said Port Coogee’s town centre was taking shape on a prime strip of land next to the marina.
“The City of Cockburn was keen to see a mixed-use development on this site,” Mr Scott said.
“The ground floor will have beautiful views over the marina and businesses that open here will be an important part of the amenity servicing the medium density housing surrounding this compact waterfront development.”
Located just five kilometres south of Fremantle, Port Coogee has been one of the fastest growing residential areas in Perth’s southern corridor.
The Village Shopping Centre opened in the town centre in 2016 and settlements are due later this year on Marina Edge apartments, a high-rise project by TRG Properties.
Colliers International Executive Retail Leasing Hudson Wheeler said retail space was limited in Port Coogee and demand for the six tenancies, with spaces ranging from 59sqm to 228sqm, would be strong.
“Located on a 3800sqm site on the corner Pantheon Avenue and Chieftain Way, the 153-room aged care building is due to be finished in May, 2018,” Mr Wheeler said.
