Colliers International to complete leasing for new retail centre
A new retail centre is set to open in the mining town of Newman in early November with strong demand for tenancies.
The $30 million neighbourhood retail centre, the largest single investment BHP has made through its social investment program, will be anchored by a 1930sqm IGA with Dome, SportsPower, Hilditch Pharmacy and Snap Fitness also joining the line-up.
Colliers International Associate Director, Retail Leasing and Metro Sales Tim Scott said there had been strong interest in the 3800sqm retail centre, the first new retail project in Newman for many years.
“Newman is an important hub for the resources industry and the centre’s additional retailers will help reinvigorate the town,” Mr Scott said.
“The operators of the IGA will be working closely with the community to customise the supermarket and the Dome café will be a much-needed new meeting place for the local community.”
Located on the corner of Lee Lane and Newman Drive, Parnawarri Retail Centre will connect with the $40 million revitalisation of Newman’s town centre, a Royalties for Regions project being delivered by LandCorp and the Shire of East Pilbara.
Architectural practice Sandover Pinder designed the centre and COX Architecture provided the concept designs.
