Colliers International predicts strong interest in high-end commercial pig farm
A commercial piggery in South Australia is expected to generate significant interest among existing pork producers and private investors.
Colliers International’s Jesse Manuel and Tim Altschwager have been appointed to sell the Mallee Park piggery at Port Vincent on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula by expressions of interest.
Mr Manuel said the property’s consistent cash flow, existing management structure and productive cropping land, currently leased out to a local operator providing passive income, would be key drivers in the sale.
“Mallee Park piggery is a quality intensive livestock operation boasting a very good supply contract with one of Australia’s major supermarket chains,” he said.
“It is located within South Australia’s premier cropping district and includes more than 300 hectares of its own quality cropping country.
“Piggeries are thinly traded and the chance to acquire an operation that is fully managed and with such strong cashflow is rare.”
Mallee Park comprises breeding and grow-out facilities, including climate-controlled farrowing sheds, multiple dry-sow sheds, porker sheds, a finisher shed, extensive eco-shelters and a and weighing shelter. The farm has been maintained to a high standard and implements industry-best practice across its systems and procedures.
Mr Manuel said the presentation of the property was exceptional and the owners’ and staff professionalism was self-evident.
“Mallee Park is a must to inspect for existing producers looking to add to their portfolio or investors seeking a quality agribusiness investment showing consistent profit and with and immediate and regular income stream,” he said.
“The property includes quality staff accommodation and is very well located, within close proximity to the Port Wakefield Primo abattoir.”
