Colliers International negotiates game-changing new leasing deal at Home Consortium Box Hill
Global sporting goods retailer Decathlon is set to open its second Australian store in Box Hill, east of Melbourne, in a leasing deal negotiated by Colliers International’s Daniel Noonan and Maria Lenne.
Decathlon is the world’s biggest sporting goods retailer, with more than 1400 stores in more than 40 countries.
“Decathlon will open its second Australian store at Home Consortium Box Hill, after securing 3,800sqm,” Mr Noonan said.
“Decathlon will join existing tenants Petbarn, Amway and Repco at Home Consortium Box Hill, as well as Kitchen Warehouse and Chemist Warehouse who will open soon. Additional brands are set to be unveiled in the coming months in time for the centre’s scheduled opening in late November 2018."
Decathlon’s first store opened in Sydney last December, after setting up an Australian online store initially.
With products for sale related to over 70 sports, Decathlon focuses on quality at competitive prices, aiming to make sport accessible to as many people as possible. Products are reviewed online by customers and their star ratings displayed alongside the item in-store.
Oliver Robinet, Decathlon Australia CEO said: “We are extremely pleased to be expanding our presence across Australia. Building on the success of our website and our first store in Tempe, Sydney, we want to maintain the momentum by opening further stores across Australia. The people of Australia have embraced our brand and we are excited by this."
