An industrial business specialising in coating technologies and surfaces for heavy engineering and mining equipment has leased a Kewdale workshop that will accommodate its expansion plans.
New Metal Surfaces signed a 10-year lease for the 1578sqm workshop and office property at 10B Bradford Street in Kewdale.
The lease was negotiated by Colliers International’s Martin Vogt who said there were early signs the increase in mining related activity was filtering into the industrial property market.
“The search for a suitable premise for this business proved to be challenging and took more than six months to finalise,” Mr Vogt said.
“In this transaction, the landlord played a significant role by assisting New Metal Surfaces to obtain change of use clearances and permits which required specialised consultants and approvals from Perth Airport.
“As part of the agreement with New Metal Surfaces, the landlord also increased power to the site and installed a 10-tonne gantry crane.”
